Tara Little
Tara attended her first Irish dancing lesson with The Honor Flynn School at the tender age of 4 and took her first steps into the world of theatre at the age of 8 with Siamsa Tire, the National Folk Theatre of Ireland. During this time she spent many years as a champion dancer and eventually turned professional at the age of 16, as a dancer, singer, actress and musician. Later she went on to continue her professional dance training at The College of Dance in Dublin, Ireland, where she also performed with Irish Dance Works, Rubato Ballet and The Irish Youth Dance Company. She was uniquely honored to perform with world renowned Russian Kirov Ballet, at The Point Theatre also in Dublin.
In 1995, Tara served as Dance Captain and Choreographer with Riverdance The Show, including their world tours and first ever performance at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. During this time she coordinated countless press and television events including The David Letterman Show, The Today Show, Disney Channel, BBC and RTE (Ireland’s National Television and Radio Broadcasting).
Tara’s film work includes A Troll in Central Park for Sullivan Bluth Cartoon Studios, Michael Collins and A Circle of Friends.
Tara performed, choreographed, directed and managed hundreds of shows all over the globe from Riverdance, Rhythm of the Celts and Dance of Desire, to The Maureen Potter Cabaret show to name but a few. Afterwards, she returned to her roots in Tralee, Ireland and founded a highly successful stage school with over 400 students in 3 locations, with many of her students ultimately continuing their career in successful entertainment professions.
Recent choreography credits include Brundibar, Aladdin, and Jesus Christ Super Star for The Winnipesaukee Playhouse. Tara was a finalist at The NH Theatre Awards for Best Choreographer for Big River (2013) & Jesus Christ Super Star (2015) and was a Top 3 finalist for The Fantastiks in 2013.
Tara opened the Tara Little Dance School in 2015 in the old Winnipesaukee Playhouse location at Weirs Beach. The School was established to afford budding performers the opportunity and direction in all aspects of theatre and dance. It is structured so that students are introduced to dance and musical theatre in a manner that encourages imagination, self-expression and develops self confidence. While the classes require dedication and hard work, the atmosphere is lively and enjoyable, ensuring a creative environment where students can grow into stars.
